小小朗读者-Margaret reads “THE FISHERMEN WITH THE BIG AND SMALL FISH”

Deep in the ocean there is a large fish. Everybody calls him a “dark-hearted” fish because he is so vicious.

The big fish is a bully. He always tells the smaller fish, “Out of my way, out of my way, you tiny fish. If you are not, I  will eat you up.”

If shrimps and small plankton come close to the large fish, he will eat all of them up.

Soon, the small fish begin to starve because they have nothing to eat.

As a result, the small fish become smaller, and the large fish becomes even larger. When the large fish eats up all the shrimps and small plankton, he begins to attack the smaller fish for food.

The smaller fish are so scared that they hide in the holes.

They dare not come out to look for food.

They become thinner and thinner.

One day, there are three fishermen coming to catch fish. They prepare a large fishing net.

When they cast the net, all the fish are scared to death.

They try their best to escape.

The smaller fish are so thin that they get through the net with ease.

It just happens that the large fish finishes a big meal and is having a nap. When he wakes up, he does not know what is happening.

“What happens?” he asks. But nobody comes to tell him because everybody hates him.

Finally, he finds out that he is caught in a large net.

He sees the smaller fish all escape from the net, and he wants to do the same.

But he is so fat that he cannot get through the hole of the net.

So, the vicious large fish gets caught by the fishermen.

The three fishermen are so surprised to catch such a big fish.
